Hydroseeding is a planting process in which a liquid “slurry” — containing grass seed, fertilizer, an organic bonding agent — is sprayed in a uniform layer onto prepared ground from a truck mounted tank. Compared to traditional seeding methods (broadcast, drill seeding), hydroseeding offers many advantages. It promotes quick germination, inhibits soil erosion, and is a very cost-effective alternative to sod.
Hydroseeding is also ideal for establishing grass in areas that are steep or otherwise difficult to cultivate by traditional seeding methods.
