EarthScapes of Liberty was founded in 2002, primarily operating as a local erosion control contracting company. At that time, the construction industry in and around Liberty was looking for a quality contractor to provide knowledgeable, professional erosion control services. The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Missouri Division of Natural Resources (MDNR), and most Kansas City area municipalities had begun to roll out new regulations and required processes with regard to erosion control on construction projects within their respective jurisdictions. EarthScapes quickly moved to the forefront of the regional erosion control field through a combination of industry knowledge, rigorous training, and real-world experience on projects ranging from mass excavations for commercial and residential projects down to individual new home sites.

From the beginning, EarthScapes has specialized in erosion control and related services, including silt fence installation, tracking controls, and seeding and hydroseeding services. A commitment to continued education and best practices helped us build our erosion control business and led to the launch of EarthScapes’ exclusive SWPPP Inspections & Management program in 2003. We began performing third party erosion control SWPPP inspections for customers as mandated by EPA regulations concerning the Clean Water Act. Our SWPPP Management program is now fully digital and is accessible by stakeholders through our online portal.

Realizing the direct synergy between erosion control and turf establishment, EarthScapes partnered with, and ultimately purchased, a 300 acre sod farm operation in Farley, Missouri in 2008.

In 2010 we began to produce high quality topsoil products to be sold and utilized in our projects.

In 2015 a new sod farming operation was opened in the Buckner, Missouri area including two fully irrigated farm locations.

Today, EarthScapes is proud of our tradition of service to the construction and development industries in the Kansas City area. We operate by the slogan “Say what you mean and mean what you say.” We combine this with the ideology that, with great attitude and extra effort, anything is possible.
